I was strolling through Barnes & Nobles the other day with my son and I came across something that was completely awesome to a trained marketing eye. I imagine that thousands of people pass it by every week without ever seeing the value of it.
As you know, one of the main things about having a successful internet marketing business is finding a profitable market that is willing to spend money on learning more about that topic.
But here’s what I realized. The work of finding profitable niches has already been done for us.
That’s exactly what I spotted at Barnes & Nobles. In order to understand what I’m talking about, here are a few pictures that I took when I was there.
I found these guides almost hidden in a stand going into the cafe inside of Barnes & Nobles. Upon closer look, I observed that these guides all focused on a niche, and gave you tons of information about that topic of interest. (As you click on the images, you can quickly see some of the topics that were covered.)
They included: Real Estate Investing, Cigars, Wine Tasting, iPhones, Dog Training, Blackberrys, and many others. You can find these guides at www.Quamut.com or at Barnes & Nobles.
According to their website, a Quamut is a concise yet comprehensive guide to a particular subject. This is exactly what you need to get started researching a niche that you want to create a business around.
The next time you get stuck wondering if you have stumbled across a profitable niche for your internet marketing business, or you are in the dark about what niche to pursue, be sure to check out www.Quamut.com and do some preliminary research. If people weren’t interested, they wouldn’t invest in creating a guide for it.
Lastly, and keep this tip a secrets: how about outsourcing your ebook creation and have them use a Quamut guide as the backbone, in their words of course, and they can then expand on it to provide a great niche product with little effort.
